The goal of this project is to return the American political process back to the people. We need to be the ones that restore American democracy and rebuild it for the 21st century. The goal of this project is to provide ways for all of us to make a positive change in the world and restore something that's been missing, to restore optimism for Americans.
For now, the power to change remains in the hands of the American people, and when America stands unified towards an objective, there's nothing to stop it. Especially in these days, we need to take action to keep it that way.
Sometimes we have to be reminded that everyday Americans have the capacity to change the world. Whether its for reforming our government and securing our Democracy, or fighting for equality for all, tackling climate change, and whatever other problems that come our way, we have the power to positively impact our world.
Any change has to start with the American people believing once again that they can be the change. Your vote counts. Your voice needs to be heard. This project will be about developing that voice, from navigating what's true and what's propaganda during an election cycle to going out and helping to fix problems we currently face. We can be that change, that force for good.
Your vote matters, now more than ever.
Take the first step. Register to vote and prepare to vote in the election.
The Internet has changed the way our democracy functions, and not always for the best. This section is devoted to highlighting how other groups may be trying to influence your vote, and showcasing popular types of misinformation you may encounter.
The internet, the social media, and the 24-hour news cycle are all trying to convince you on what and how to think.
Don't let them. These issues are way to complex for 256 characters, or 30 second of air time.
Get informed. This section will provide some base level information about a wide variety of issues complete with references that go right to the primary sources if possible.
We can provide a list of candidates who closely match the solutions we've put forth in step 3 and follow the rules we've setup in step 2.
But at the end of the day, the power is in your hands to choose who you want to lead America.
For most of us, our introduction to politics was a civics class in high school. Now, suddenly, we're confronted with political stuff everywhere, from social media to 24 hour news cycles and more. Every two years another election seems to lead towards more extremism, negativity, stress and the idea that America is breaking at the seams.
Its time for a refresher on how we approach politics, devise new tactics to handle these stressful times, and put power back in the hands of the American people.
Political parties in recent decades have becoming polarizing entities that are dividing Americans in to parts. Instead of getting into details on policies, parties have continually focused on overarching rhetoric and fear to stay in power. And for their part, American are allowing it to happen by committing to their political party affiliation and not holding politicians accountable at an individual level.
This combined effect party polarization and party loyalty are leading to an America that is fractured. and a democracy that is becoming increasingly broken.
That's why this group will be providing recommendations on politicians for both parties, particularly during the primaries.
The goal of this group is to approach American politics that focuses on the issues facing America in the 21st century. The site will describe the problems in detail and then provide both policy solutions and solutions that the American people can accomplish together.
